Another excellent car hire experience with Alamo at Ponta Delgada airport. A quick transfer to the depot. No hard selling of extra insurance, as we inform them that we have our own excess insurance. There’s the usual deposit for a full tank of petrol but this was refunded to the credit card within hours of us returning the car with a full tank. As usual we were given a car in excellent condition. We always use them whenever they’re available at our holiday location. Highly recommended.

What I paid when I booked was exactly what it cost me. I used the smart key facility so I didn’t go to the desk in the terminal (no opportunity for the dreaded upsell) I went straight to the pick up area, scanned a qr code to unlock a locker to get my keys. Over to the car which was as ordered, pretty new, very clean & un damaged. Just got in & drove away. Car was faultless during our rental.

On return straight to their returns zone and was checked in immediately. Car fuel prepayment made when booking (full to full) was returned in full after 2 days. Credit where it’s due this was a great experience from Alamo. I will 100% use them next time if their charges remain reasonably competitive. Well done. No connection, just very satisfied customer

Book and pay from home, hop off the plane and go straight to the parking, scan the QR code, get the key from the locker, and you can go. Fantastic!
